Foyer

I caught this silhouette a few days ago as I was rushing around and putting away clean, folded clothes. The shadows of the leaves at the bottom of the window are azaleas which are starting to show some lavender blooms and full flowers. The textured wall is in our foyer. It is one of my favorite places in this house because the window paned doorway lets in lots of natural light that changes throughout the day. You can see a small reflection of the door in the mirror resting on the small buffet.

I'm trying to slowly get the rest of my home to look as peaceful as this space. It is hard work when it seems there are always more things coming in than going out. My family has had to move several times, so this is always a good opportunity to reevaluate what should be kept and what should be given away, recycled, or thrown away. Even without a move on the horizon, I'm trying to lighten the load and decide what is essential to carry with us on the journey through our days.

No, we're not moving-- always getting ready in case we do!
